Presence through pain
The other day my one year old had to get blood drawn; for routine purposes. This was not something I was particularly ready for, but the Lord spoke something to me which I will never forget. As mom I didn't know how she would handle the pain, but I knew that both mommy and daddy were beside her; more like holding her down.
During the process I kept telling her "mommy is right her, and I'm not going anywhere". I said "Daddy is here" I told her "mommy and daddy are right here, and we are not going to leave you". Afterwards my husband and I were talking about how good she did. She cried, but not for long. Why? She was comforted the whole time. She knew mommy and daddy were by her side, and we were not going to let her be harmed. Yes, she felt pain but even through the tears and pain; we never left her.
This is exactly how the Lord protects us through the pain and storms of life. God never leaves us! He knows exactly what we are about to endure and He knows the pain. Everyday He is standing beside you. He is saying, even though I know this is painful in the moment; daddy is right here, and I will never leave you. Through the tears He is there to comfort you. He is holding your hand through the process. He knows what you need best, and though at times it can be painful there is purpose for your growth. He knows exactly where you are at, and He knows what will sculpt you into the man or woman of God that He has created you to be. You see not every moment of pain is useless. Sometimes we endure hardships because there is room for growth, and He knows how that growth will take place. There is deliverance and healing that needs to take place. Sometimes the Lord just wants us to trust Him.
I'll just be quiet
And let You speak through the silence
Here I am, no more hiding
You are in this moment, I won't fight it
I'll be quiet
In the midst of pain He is there, and He is always speaking. My daughter was crying and at times she couldn't hear my voice, but I never stopped speaking to her. I never stopped trying to comfort her, even when she tried to push me away. God is always speaking to you even through the noise. Be still and quiet. Listen for His sweet reminder of how much He loves you. I pray you hear Him say I will never leave you!
Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
