Forgotten but not forsaken

Your whole life you may have felt left out. You have felt forgotten at times. You have felt different than most. You have always felt as though you stand out. You have felt at times lonely and as though you don't fit in. Your joy and your relationship with God is where you find your acceptance and comfort, but still there are times you feel alone. You feel different,  but know it is your individuality that makes you shine.

It is your quirks that make you the man/woman God created you to be. Where to some you may seem different and odd, but to others it's those very things they admire about you. Know no matter how many times you have felt forgotten or left out. God has given you great favor.

In Daniel 1 King Nebuchadnezzar was in search for youths who had the ability to serve the kings court. The king ordered these youth to be trained. These men were to eat the kings chosen daily ration of finest food. Among the youth was Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. These men set themselves apart from the rest. Daniel remained dedicated to the Lord and refused to defile himself by eating the kings food. Daniel sought permission not to defile himself and he found favor (1:8-9).

Daniel was given a duration of ten days to be tested. At the end of ten days they were found to be healthier then all the others (15 At the end of ten days their appearance seemed better and they were fatter than all the youths who had been eating the king’s choice food.)

1:17-20 As for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and intelligence in every branch of literature and wisdom; Daniel even understood all kinds of visions and dreams.

18 Then at the end of the days which the king had specified for presenting them, the commander of the officials presented them before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king talked with them, and out of them all not one was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s personal service. 20 As for every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and conjurers who were in all his realm.

These men were not like those surrounding them. They were set apart for God's purpose. As they chose to be obedient to God and remain set apart later on they are found to be ten times better then all the magicians and conjurers. They stood out! They found favor with the king and God promoted them to enter in to the king's personal service.

You may feel at times forgotten, but God created you to be set apart because In your obedience and individuality God's promoting you to the King's personal service.
