A Lamp stand meaning.

14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.
 - Matthew 5: 14- 15

The word Lamp stand in Greek means Luchnos (portable lamp).
Candle in Hebrew is (ner) which means lamp. The primitive root properly means to glisten ( a lamp (the burner) or light). A candle, lamp, and light.

According to Noah's 1828 Dictionary states;
The word Glisten is to shine, sparkle with light, as the glistening stars in the sky.

The word Light in Greek is photeinos = Bright, lumious, full of light.

Noah 1828. Light = means of knowing. Open view.

Bright: Shining, lucid, luminous, clear, transparent, and evident.
Lumious = Shining, light and clear.

Jesus is the light.
John 8:12
12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

After breaking down these definitions I now see that we are the shining, glistening, and bright light. We are the clear, knowledge, and understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are the lamp stand. We are in deed an image of Jesus, and maybe the only image ( photeinos: "phos" Light = photo) of Jesus that some may see.

Jesus is the light. He is our greatest example, and we are his greatest reflection. What's that reflection look like?
