The cost is a price that money can't buy

The cost of being a minister of the Gospel is higher then you would think.

The sacrifice they give to shepherd a flock. The pay often doesn't support a family. The time and devotion a minister gives, when most people are only faithful from 9-5, and still how much are they milking the clock? How much effort are they putting in when a pastor doesn't clock in or clock out, and yet he or she still devotes himself completely for the cause of Christ.

The cost has nothing to do with money, but has everything to do with sacrifice. The cost has a price that many don't see, and very few are willing to commit to. You see many want the fame and the pay check, but most are not willing to do the work. You see a minister of the Gospel is a full time on call position. It's being there when no one else will. It's not just standing up and teaching. It's getting on their knees to clean the church, it's picking people up for church when they don't have a ride, it's answering the phone in the middle of the night just to hear someone's tears on the other end. It's counseling people who say they want help, but they don't want to make the effort to do the work it takes. It's being criticized just because someone doesn't like you. The list goes on because ministry is not just a job description, it is simply the call to make disciples and lead people out of hell's way straight to the gates of Heaven. If  you look at the life of Jesus, he was interrupted on many of his journeys, but he didn't push the people away because he didn't have time; he stopped and ministered to them. In Luke 8:22-25 Jesus was taking a nap in the boat, but when the disciples called on him; he answered them.  The  story of the feeding of the 5,000. The disciples wanted to send the crowd away and what does she say? He says in Luke 9:13 Feed them. There are multiple stories such as these in scripture. Jesus always served the need of the people. He was a servant of all, and that is exactly what being a minister is all about. Serving others.
