The power of Words spoken
This morning the Lord led me to a passage in Matthew 15 when Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees. They were questioning him about why the disciples ignored the tradition of ceremonial hand washing before they eat. Jesus explains to them that it is not what goes into their mouths that defile them, but it is what comes out of their mouth.
I had a big WOW moment here!
It's another example of Proverbs 18:21(AMP)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].
Our tongues have power over every situation in our lives. We have the power to speak either life (truth) or death (lies) into whatever situation we are in. Are we speaking as things have always been? Broken, painful, and full of anger and bitterness? If we are, then we are defiling the very thing we are believing for. We need to speak life to those things that look impossible. Speak hope when all hope seems lost. Speak forgiveness where the root of bitterness has been planted for years. Speak love into a home where it seems they've forgotten how to love. Speak as though it is already done. Speak with such faith that as you say it; you can see that mountain moving. Speak it with authority. Look at Genesis! God spoke and the earth was created. Look at Ezekiel 37, He spoke to dry bones and they came together, and alive in flesh. He extended his faith to believe, and he Spoke with his words. Speak to your situation, but speak words of Life. Does the thing you're believing for seem to look impossible, or you think, why even waste your breath? Why??? I will tell you why, because you can see your own dry bones in life come alive. You can see that family member come to Jesus. You can see that friend healed of sickness and disease. You can see your bank account overflowing. You can see marriages restored. You can see that man or woman freed from the bondage of sexual addictions. You can see the chains that once held you be cut off. You can see that dream job coming your way. You can see the violence rate decrease. You can see the depression cease, and you can see suicide completely subside. You can see all these and so much more.
You have the authority to speak with power and authority over your family and all loved ones.
Do them a favor and Speak it!! Speak out the Truth as though it is!
